Gelang Karo - Tetum

Bangles have been used in many Indonesian cultures both as an aesthetic accessory for ceremonies and a symbol of status presented by its intricacy. Decorated with patterns taken from various sources of Indonesia, Gelang Karo offers a simple and versatile form of stacker complimented by its trapezium shape enabling multiple surfaces to be decorated.

Inspired by the Tetum people, the elliptical shape of the center pattern represents a long chain of islands surrounded by repetitive lines which depict everlasting waves of the ocean.
